The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has joined his ancestors at the age of 90.
According to reliable sources, the revered monarch passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025—exactly one year since his official coronation as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Oba Olakulehin’s transition comes just two days after he marked his 90th birthday, a milestone recently celebrated by family, traditional chiefs, and well-wishers across Oyo State.
His passing marks the end of a brief but impactful reign, characterized by wisdom, dignity, and a deep commitment to the peace and progress of Ibadanland.
More details surrounding the monarch’s passing and burial rites are expected to be announced by the Ibadan Traditional Council in due course.
