A 50-year-old man, Modu Isa, was rescued after a suicide attempt in Bama, Borno State.
The incident took place on Friday evening in Hausari Ward and was brought to public attention by security analyst Zagazola Makama via a post on his X account on Saturday.
According to reports, Isa stabbed himself multiple times in the abdomen and mutilated himself, allegedly due to emotional distress after his ex-wife, Bayanxe Modu of Konduga—whom he had divorced three times—refused to return to him.
Residents quickly alerted authorities, and police officers arrived at the scene, recovered the weapon used, and evacuated him to the General Hospital in Bama, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The case has since been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Maiduguri for further inquiry.
