A Magistrate Court II in Adamawa has ordered the remand in prison custody of a 20-year-old alleged drug dealer identified as Abdullahi Bawa for stabbing his friend, Baba Ali, to death.
Bawa allegedly stabbed his friend with a pair of scissors during a quarrel over a hard drug known as diazepam.

Adamu issued the remand order after he was arraigned before the court by the Adamawa State Police Command.
The prosecutor, Inspector Nanugi Tayeri, who described the defendant as a serial offender, informed the court that he committed the crime on the 25th of April, 2025.
According to Tayeri, Bawa, who hails from Ngurore in the Yola South local government area, allegedly stabbed Ali with a pair of scissors, leading to his death.
The defendant also reportedly stabbed a lady known as Hasim, who is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility.
Insp. Nanugi told the court in the First Information Report tendered that the defendant allegedly murdered his victim over a hard drug and injured another.
He stated that the offenses “causing grievous hurt and culpable homicide” contravene Sections 218 and 191 of the penal code law of Adamawa State.
