Business mogul and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, Olorogun Oskar Ibru, has passed away at the age of 67.
His family confirmed the news in a statement on Wednesday, stating that he died after a brief illness. However, further details on the circumstances of his death were not disclosed.
Ibru, one of the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty, played a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding the conglomerate founded by his late father, Olorogun Michael Ibru.
The Ibru Organisation, which has interests spanning shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce, has long been regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential business empires.
His death comes less than a decade after the passing of the family patriarch, Michael Ibru, in 2016.
Funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be announced in due course.
