Gunmen on Sunday night reportedly stormed the Agwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing an unspecified number of residents.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers invaded the area at about 7:30 p.m., firing indiscriminately and throwing the community into panic. Residents were unable to immediately identify the victims, while the exact number of casualties remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.
Sources said the assailants operated for several minutes before fleeing the scene.
Efforts to get an official reaction from the Plateau State Police Command were unsuccessful, as calls to the Police Public Relations Officer, Alfred Alabo, were not answered.
