The Federal Government has announced “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation” as the official theme for the country’s 2025 Independence Day celebrations.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
According to the statement, the theme underscores the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism among government institutions, the private sector, civil society groups, and citizens in driving national peace, prosperity, and progress.
It added that the choice of theme reflects Nigeria’s resilience since gaining independence in 1960 and highlights the need to consolidate past achievements while striving toward loftier goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Government agencies and stakeholders have been directed to align their programmes with the theme to ensure that its message resonates across all sectors of national life.
As part of activities lined up for the 65th Independence anniversary, a Juma’at prayer will be held on Friday, September 26, followed by an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28. A World Press Conference is also scheduled for Monday, September 29, in Abuja.
