Enugu Air, operated by XEJET, has announced the arrival of a new Embraer 195 aircraft as part of its ongoing efforts to expand operations and enhance service delivery.
In a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of XEJET, Mr Emmanuel Iza, the airline described the acquisition as a significant milestone in its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and efficient air travel services.
Iza commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, for his support and vision in advancing aviation development in the state, noting that the administration’s commitment continues to strengthen connectivity and stimulate economic growth across the region.
He said the addition of the Embraer 195 marks further progress in the airline’s expansion drive, assuring passengers of improved capacity and additional services in the coming weeks as the carrier consolidates its operations.
Enugu Air, a state-owned airline established by the Enugu State Government, was launched in July 2025 to boost regional air connectivity, promote economic activity, and support local aviation development. The airline operates from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
At its inauguration on July 7, 2025, the carrier commenced commercial flights with three Embraer 170 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of about 76 passengers. Pending the completion of its Air Operator Certificate application, Enugu Air partnered with XEJET, which currently holds the regulatory approvals to operate scheduled domestic flights on its behalf, with ticket bookings managed through XEJET’s platform.
