Businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has engaged in a public war of words with Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, over his support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The exchange began after Fayose, in a video posted on Instagram, alleged that the Igbo are “easy to buy” provided one has “money and power,” a remark that stirred reactions on social media.

Responding on Wednesday via Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest defended his association with the City Boy Movement, a group aligned with President Tinubu’s government. He said his decision to support the administration was driven by business considerations, noting that as an employer of labour, he must align with policies that favour his enterprises.

“Over 30 governors align and you are crying because an ordinary businessman aligned? Power pass power,” he wrote.

The celebrity barman challenged Fayose to a public debate on business, questioning the source of his wealth and referencing the eight-year tenure of Fayose’s brother as governor of Ekiti State.

He dismissed suggestions that political opposition was the best route to secure the release of detained Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu, stating that he had chosen a different path.

“You want me to negotiate the release of Nnamdi Kanu by being in opposition? I have chosen my path – business and politics,” he said.

Cubana Chief Priest also declared his backing for President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” expressing optimism about the administration’s policies. “As for me and my family, we have decided to stay with the moving train, Renewed Hope,” he added.

Highlighting his investments in hospitality and real estate, particularly in his home community, he maintained that he has contributed to economic growth and job creation.

He further accused Fayose of acting out of jealousy and attempting to lure him into political opposition, insisting that he is “not an activist” but a businessman focused on expansion and strategic partnerships.
