An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has upheld the outcome of the 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan.
Trial judge, Justice Ladiran Akintola of Court 5, delivered the judgment on Friday shortly after ruling on an application for joinder and dismissing an application filed by Nwachukwu and others seeking a stay of proceedings in the matter.
In his ruling, Justice Akintola granted all 13 reliefs sought by the claimant, Folahan Malomo Adelabi, through his counsel, Musbau Adetunmbi, thereby affirming the validity of the convention and its resolutions.
The court’s decision effectively validates the emergence of the National Working Committee led by Dr. Taminu Turaki, which was constituted during the Ibadan convention.
With the dismissal of the application for stay of proceedings, the court cleared the way for the implementation of the convention’s outcomes, reinforcing the legitimacy of the party’s current leadership structure.
