Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled judgment for November 20 in the terrorism trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The judge announced the date on Friday after Kanu failed to open his defence, despite being granted six days by the court to do so.
In his ruling, Justice Omotosho held that the defendant had been given ample opportunity to present his case and therefore could not claim to have been denied his constitutional right to a fair hearing.
Kanu is facing terrorism-related charges brought against him by the Federal Government.
