The proposed contract terms of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle have surfaced, revealing a comprehensive list of demands ranging from a $130,000 monthly salary to guaranteed 24-hour electricity at his official residence.
Chelle, who is in talks with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), reportedly outlined detailed conditions covering welfare, logistics, technical autonomy, and operational structure as part of his agreement to manage the senior national team.
Among the key provisions is a request for accommodation in a well-secured environment with uninterrupted electricity supply. According to the proposal, constant power is essential for training analysis, staff coordination, and effective monitoring of players.
The contract specifically states: “House in a well-secured environment with 24 hours uninterrupted power supply (electricity).”
In addition, Chelle is demanding a private SUV with a chauffeur, security, and GPS provision to ease movement during official assignments. The document reads: “Private car (SUV) with a chauffeur and security. GPS provision.”
Financially, the coach is seeking a monthly salary of $130,000, a sum he says covers his entire technical crew and personal assistant. The proposal also requires that salaries be paid on or before the 30th of every month, with bonuses and allowances structured in line with federation guidelines. He further requested that his personal assistant be included in the bonus and allowance framework.
The proposed agreement obliges the NFF to issue formal working contracts to its technical staff, ensuring defined terms of engagement and remuneration.
Beyond welfare and pay, Chelle’s demands extend to technical independence. He is seeking full autonomy over team selection and player call-ups, with no interference. He also wants the authority to determine opponents for international friendly matches based on technical considerations.
The contract further provides for regular travel to monitor both foreign-based and domestic players for possible integration into the senior team and age-grade sides, including the U23, U20, and U17 national teams. Structured camping programmes and continuous scouting of the local league are also included in the proposal.
Additional provisions cover a furnished office equipped with a projector for match analysis and internet access, supply of technical equipment as required, and monthly meetings with all national team coaches to ensure alignment across cadres.
Chelle also requested flight tickets for his wife and two children, with business class travel for himself and his wife, and economy class for the children.
The detailed proposal underscores the coach’s push for professional standards, operational efficiency, and administrative clarity as negotiations with the federation continue.
