The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in what the service described as a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen command effectiveness.
According to a statement on Friday by NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the new postings affect key positions at the Force Headquarters, field commands, and operational units nationwide.
Ejodame said the reshuffle aims to optimise decision-making, improve mission readiness, and align NAF’s structure with the command philosophy of the new Chief of Air Staff in response to evolving security challenges.
Among those affected are Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Abubakar Abdullahi, who is now Chief of Policy and Plans; AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun, appointed Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna; and AVM Ibitayo Ajiboye, named Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited (NAFIL).
Others include AVM Precious Amadi, Chief of Operations; AVM Nnamdi Ananaba, Chief of Air Intelligence; AVM Ebimobo Ebiowe, Superintendent of Standards and Evaluation; and AVM Ahmed Dari, Chief of Training. The Transformation and Innovation Branch will now be headed by AVM Mohammed Ibrahim, reflecting NAF’s increasing focus on technology-driven operations.
In the logistics and engineering divisions, AVM Olufemi Ogunsina becomes Chief of Aircraft Engineering, while AVM Michael Onyebashi assumes command as Air Officer Commanding, Mobility Command. AVM David Pwajok is now Chief of Communication and Information Systems, and AVM John Ukeh takes charge as Air Provost Marshal.
The statement added that the reshuffle also affects officers posted to various defence and inter-service establishments to strengthen joint operations and national defence coordination.
Ejodame said the redeployment demonstrates the new leadership’s commitment to building a smarter and more adaptive Air Force focused on purpose, protection, and progress.
